1 Year Old Bareroot Seedling 12"-24"

The Trazel Hazelnut is a unique hazel variety with genetic heritage from Eurasia that grows great in our temperate climate. The seed source for our trees is from the famous ‘Faroka' progeny bred by Jack Gellatly. 'Faroka' and its offspring are reportedly resistant to filbert blight and bud mite. The nuts range from medium to large size, usually oval with good nut qualities. This tree form hazel grows in a pyramidal form and might be one of the best climbing trees we know of. The Turkish hazel certainly stands out as a rarity and has the ability pollinate other types hazelnuts as well. Great for wildlife too, feeding all types of birds, small mammals and bears.
