1 year old rooted cutting 12"-24"

Grapes need well-drained, loamy soil, though they're adaptable within a pH of 5.5 to 6.5. Thriving in full sun, with at least six hours daily, they require consistent watering, especially when young. With proper pruning for sun exposure and air flow, these vines reward with fruitful harvests ideal for table and or backyard winery.

In a food forest, where each layer from the ground to the treetops is optimized for yield and biodiversity, grapes contribute to both. By vining up trees, they can receive the sunlight necessary for vigorous growth and abundant fruit production without competing for ground space with other food forest components. This harmonious integration underscores the dynamic utility of grapes within permaculture designs, fulfilling the principles of both vertical stacking and beneficial relationships among species.

Variety-The variety of grapes we grow come from our friend who never kept notes on his plantings but hooked us up with all his prunings for cuttings of his best grapes. These vines produce heavy crops almost every year in the interior of BC even in wet cool falls. This variety shows good resistance to powdery mildew and the ability to ripen tasty grapes in a less than Mediterranean climate.
