Why We Grow It

A Fuji apple tree is an excellent choice for gardeners seeking a reliable, productive tree with fruit that excels in both flavor and versatility. Whether you're biting into one fresh from the tree or baking a pie, the Fuji apple delivers an unbeatable experience.

How the Plant Grows

The Fuji apple tree grows as a medium-sized deciduous tree with a rounded, spreading canopy, reaching 15-20 feet tall and is grown on B118 rootstock. It produces vigorous growth and requires regular pruning to maintain its shape and promote fruiting.

Additional Info

Fuji is a solid choice for a good keeping apple that thrives across different climates.

Originally developed in Japan in the 1930s, Fuji apples are a cross between the American varieties Red Delicious and Ralls Janet. Fuji is a modern favorite known for its incredibly sweet, crisp, and juicy apples that hold their texture exceptionally well in storage. The fruit is dense, flavorful, and excellent for fresh eating, baking, and long keeping through winter. Grafted onto M111 rootstock, this Fuji develops into a vigorous, well-anchored tree with strong drought tolerance, wide soil adaptability, and reliable cold-hardiness. The combination produces a durable, long-lived tree that performs consistently in northern climates while delivering heavy crops of high-quality fruit.
